Manhattan. The First Great AI Debate: GPT-4 and Gemini Debate Standardized Testing Meetup

Join us in person at Astronomer‘s headquarters in NYC for the First Great AI Debate.

This event will feature a spoken debate between OpenAI’s GPT-4 and Google’s Gemini on the topic:

Standardized testing should be abolished.

The debate will have the following format:

1. Opening Statements (about 2 minutes each)
2. Arguments (3 minutes)
3. Rebuttal (3 minutes)
4. Conclusion (2 minutes)

The audience and AIs will judge the winner.

Following the debate, we will provide a discussion of the (relatively simple) technical implementation and some potential improvements for the next debate.

This is a timely topic. Top colleges have recently reintroduced standardized testing as a requirement for admissions.

We promise this will be a thought-provoking experience.

You may have seen good and bad responses from GPT-4 and Gemini. But you have probably never heard these two AIs speak in a context where they are conversing with each other.

We are exploring the boundaries of that eerie and magical moment when AI seems human.

Event Timing:

6:00 – 6:15 pm – Welcome and mingle
6:15 – 6:35 pm – GPT-4 and Gemini debate
6:35 – 6:55 pm – How we made the debate + future opportunities
6:55 – 7:00 pm – Debate winner announcement (via polls + AI judges)
7:00 – 7:15 pm – Hang out and wrap up

Important note about our accommodations: Because Astronomer’s office is new, they do not have seats for this room yet! There will be plenty of space to move around, but we’ll be hanging out on our feet. You are welcome to come and go, but we apologize for anyone who cannot stand for the hour.
